India Post GDS Eligibility Criteria 2026
Educational Qualification
- Secondary School Examination (10th standard) pass with passing marks in Mathematics and English from a recognised board.
- Equivalent qualifications are not accepted.
- Must have studied the local language of the postal circle up to at least 10th standard.
Other Requirements
- Knowledge of computers
- Knowledge of cycling
- Adequate means of livelihood (undertakings to be furnished at the time of engagement)
- Past experience or service of any kind is not considered for selection

There is no written exam and no interview. Selection is completed in the following stages:

- Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) between 31.08.2026 and 19.09.2026 using a valid mobile number and email ID.
- Log in with your registration number from 2 September 2026 and fill the application form.
- Enter name, parents’ names and date of birth exactly as printed on the Class 10 marksheet.
- Upload photograph and signature (no other documents are to be uploaded).
- Select the Division and post preferences. A candidate may apply for posts in only one Division.
- Pay the fee (Rs. 100, if applicable) within 10 minutes of opening the payment window.
- Submit the form before 21 September 2026, 5:00 PM and take a printout for reference.
- Use the correction window on 23–24 September 2026 if any edit is required.
Important Instructions for Applicants
- Only one registration per candidate; duplicate registrations will be cancelled.
